Turkey, Cucumber & Lettuce Wrap
The dressing is the recipe. Mayonnaise and paprika stirred together, cucumber strips folded in, and the rest is just layering: shredded lettuce, turkey breast, the whole thing rolled tight in a whole wheat wrap.
261 calories, five minutes, and zero cooking. The paprika gives the mayo a smoky warmth that the cold cucumber cuts right through.
Ingredients
- cucumber 0.25 piece
- mayonnaise 1 tablespoon
- paprika (ground spice) 0.5 teaspoon
- turkey breast 2 slices
- tortilla wrap, whole wheat 1 piece
- iceberg lettuce, shredded 1 handful
Method
-
Cut the cucumber into thin strips.
-
In a bowl, mix mayonnaise with paprika powder. Stir in the cucumber strips. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Lay the wrap on a clean surface. Spread the shredded lettuce over the wrap to cover the surface. Spread the cucumber mixture over the lettuce. Layer the turkey on top of the cucumber mixture.
-
Roll up the wrap tightly from one end to the other, securing the filling inside. Cut the wrap in half diagonally for easier serving, if desired. Serve the wrap on a plate.
Season the mayo and paprika together before adding the cucumber strips. The paprika dissolves evenly into the fat, and the salt and pepper distribute through the dressing instead of sitting on the surface of the vegetables.
Behind this recipe
Is 11 grams of protein enough for a meal?
It depends on what else you eat that day. At 11g protein and 261 calories, this wrap fits best as a snack or light lunch alongside other protein sources. Research on protein and body composition found that how much protein you eat across the entire day carries more weight than what any one meal or snack delivers. If your goal is preserving muscle while losing weight, spreading protein across the full day keeps the total on track without forcing every snack to carry a heavy load.
Read the full evidence reviewCan I make this wrap ahead of time?
Yes. Keep the mayo-paprika-cucumber mixture in a separate container and assemble when ready to eat. If assembling in advance, spread the lettuce directly on the wrap before the dressing. The lettuce works as a moisture barrier and keeps the tortilla from going soggy for a few hours.
What does the paprika do in the dressing?
Ground sweet paprika gives the mayo a smoky warmth and an orange-red tint without adding heat. If you want a kick, swap in smoked paprika or add a pinch of cayenne. The flavor difference is subtle but noticeable, especially against the cold cucumber.
